Wedding photography at an 18th century contemporary barn wedding venue

Northumberland with its stunning scenery and epic countryside is one of my favourite places, so I was delighted when the very lovely Jenny & Alex asked me to capture their relaxed fun day at the beautiful Healey Barn.

Healey Barn really is a gorgeous gem. Beautiful timber framed ceilings and soft buttery coloured stone walls that over look countryside views. A courtyard to relax in and enjoy the pizza oven while surrounded by beautiful roses and climbers spilling out of antique planters and across the beautiful stone.

Cozy fire pits to keep warm by night, and fields of sheep and wild flower meadows. Also I got to swing by one of my favourite haunts RE in the very pretty town of Corbridge, a must if you love quirky house finds and visual merchandise.

The Wedding Styling

The bride is a super talented musician so the day was not only filled with exquisite orchestral pieces but also flowed into the evening with a super fun ceilidh.

She also adores florals and gardens like myself. Her bouquet was packed with beauty. Deep reds nestled in between delicate clematis a nod to the dutch masters and the barn was decorated to perfection with those huge hanging floral globes.

We also made sure we took the time to sneak out into the gorgeous wild flower meadow to create some elegant portraits.

The Oak Dining Room

The Oak Dining room is a beautiful space that combines stone and natural wood to create a setting perfect for a rustic and contemporary style wedding breakfast.

For their wedding, the couple chose simple linens with foliage hoops hanging from the beams and dutch master inspired florals for the tables.

How did you find your photographer and videographer? Why did you book them?

Georgina’s photos stood out from the others as having an artistic quality that the couple looked for. They wanted a relaxed documentary of their day rather than anything overly formal. The photos are better than they could’ve imagined and so glad they decided not to skimp on the photographer as so much of the detail of the day can only be seen and remembered by the photos.
