A modern, fashion-forward destination wedding weekend at Middleton Lodge — captured on film and digital, and filled with stylish American guests, elegant details and effortless celebration.

Some weddings feel less like a timeline and more like a takeover — the kind where your closest people fly in, move into a beautiful old house for the weekend, and every corridor, staircase and garden path fills with energy. Jess and Michael’s celebration at Middleton Lodge had that exact magic.

Jess and Michael arrived from the States with their closest people, ready for an exclusive weekend takeover of the estate. With a modern, fashion-forward twist. Think: Georgian manor house meets effortlessly cool American style. Long dinners, great wine, late-night dancing, morning walks through the grounds… the kind of weekend that blurs into one big, joyful memory.

Her look set the tone. Jess wore Katherine Tash, one of my favourite LA designers — minimal, sculptural, beautifully confident. And their guests matched her energy: silk slips in muted tones, sharp tailoring, sunglasses at golden hour, a little sparkle after dark. Every corner of Middleton Lodge became a backdrop.

I photographed the weekend on a mix of analogue film and digital, capturing that glossy editorial feel alongside the real, unscripted moments — the laughter, the movement, the slightly wild energy that only happens when everyone is truly relaxed and in celebration mode.

The estate is known for its beautiful Georgian architecture and expansive grounds, but when a group really leans into the space like this — treating it as their own home for a few days — it transforms. It becomes intimate, stylish, lived-in, full of personality.

For American couples planning a destination wedding in the UK, weekends like Jess and Michael’s show what’s possible: a celebration that’s elegant without being formal, chic without trying too hard, and filled with the kind of moments you’ll talk about for years.

I photograph destination and weekend-long celebrations across the UK and Europe, with a style rooted in elegance, fashion and connection. If you’re planning a wedding at Middleton Lodge, you can view more of my Middleton Lodge wedding photography here.
